Currently in Nigeria,Churches regardless of the denominations are so politicised and divided along ethnic lines and this is rather unfortunate as Jehovah is the God of all creatures regardless of their ethnicity or race. Any insider virtually in all of our today's Churches can testify that politics is now being deployed on serious issues which ordinarily are spiritual in nature for example,promotions and appointments, it's no longer a secret that these all important spiritual exercise which ought to be guided by the leadership of the holy spirit are now being done based on ethnic considerations. Here in Nigeria,there are Churches where members from the ethnic groups different from that of the church overseers are not allowed to hold sensitive offices or posted to branches which they the church considers as juicy branches and this is sad as our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ along with his disciples never discriminated against any one,even though Apostle Paul was never part of the disciples when Christ was here on earth, nevertheless, he was accepted and well respected inspite of his ugly past of being a tormentor in chief to the body of Christ, why can't the heavy tribalised and discriminatory Churches of today learn from them? There's no doubt that the church here in Nigeria desperately needs prayers considering the many challenges therein,the church is seriously pleagued by all manners of crisis which in my opinion are all man made as Christ Jesus made it clear in the bible that he will build his church upon the rock and the gate of hell shall not prevail over it.
